Getting to the Heart of the Matter

This has been an interesting week. I have offered up some great deals in my shoppe with only one sale. So, what does this mean? This means I need to reevaluate why I started a business in the first place.

Stay with me, this gets better!

So, over the last few days, while feeling sorry for myself, I did some reading and a lot of soul searching.

I had to ask myself, “Why do I even bother with my shoppe?”. Selling on social media is a pain in the neck, I hate all the hoops I have to jump through to get noticed! Don’t get me wrong, I love getting sales, but there has to be more to it than making money to keep my heart in it.

So what is my motivation?

After asking all the right questions, and finding what I hope is the answer,

It’s You!

When I thought about closing up my shoppe because my ego was a little ruffled, I thought about what I would miss the most, my connection with this community and all the wonderful people I have met through it! And I just can’t bring myself to do that.

My goals in the beginning were to inspire and provide materials for art journaling, and they still are, I just let the whole idea of what having a business “Should look like” get to my head.

Honestly, If you feel as if you can’t live without one of my journals, you know where to find them. Or, If you like looking at photos and listening to me blather on, I can help you with that too.

But, in the meantime, I just want to keep calling you my friends.

It’s that simple!

So, if you see me going off the rails on the Pity Train, please pull the emergency break and tell me to grow up!

Until next time,

Have a wonderful day,

Much Love,

~Patty

  1. I love your journals and just have not had the chance to purchase one yet – maybe once the tax return comes in 🙂

I love reading your blog, even though sometimes I need to catch up after being off the ‘net to attend to life. I hope you continue to make your journals and entertain us with you blog. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I also have a little Etsy shop so I understand your struggle. I do love your journals but also find so much inspiration through your blog and Instagram. Thank you for sharing what you do.

  3. We would definitely hate to see you quit! I fell in love with the things you create .. what… 2 years ago? And I still am. I find your blogspot to be a treasure trove of ideas. However, I can’t just now buy the things you offer. I would if I could, I do want to support you in some way. I can continue supporting you through mail/comments/prayer. If it is any consolation…
