My “Camp Reset” Journey

I’m not sure what happened, because I’m not much of a joiner, but I went to “Camp Reset” this summer, and it’s been a blast! It’s a virtual camp put together and run by Cori at “The Reset Girl, and it’s all about self care and goal setting, and boy did I need it!

My usual routine was to jump out of bed and start ticking things off my to do list, but since “arriving” at camp, I’ve changed things up a bit. I wish I could say that self care is my new “jam”, but I’m pretty stubborn and definitely set in my ways…

…but a few changes have been made…

…and I’ve created a couple of “self care kits”.

I was shocked at how many products I had tucked around the house with good intentions.  I pulled any hand and feet care products into a vintage suitcase in my bedroom, and the rest of this into a smaller basket in my bathroom. And now I use all of it! Amazing!

My “cabin”.

Located in my sewing room, this is creativity central in my home. When camp is over, that fabric covered foam core will become my new vision board. Making a vision board was one of the camp activities, but I wanted one where it was more “in my face” so to speak.

The suitcase in the previous photo is now my Faith journaling organizer. I haven’t said much about that on my blog because I was still working out how organize prayer time into my schedule. But, after watching Cori’s Youtube video on how to put together a prayer binder (on continuous loop) I’m pretty much set.

Above is a bible journaling page I did during “Chapel Day” at camp. Oh my gosh, it was so much fun! I went to a Catholic camp as a kid, so we had chapel everyday and Mass on Sundays, so this really took me back to camp as a kid. This page is a “tip-in” style of bible journaling that Cori prefers, and I think I prefer it too.

Art journaling activities. You know I was on board for this!

And YAY…I added another piece to my never-ending list of creative pursuits, Discbound  notebooks!

I started my Camp Handbook in a large 3 ring binder because I needed the freedom of moving things around, but I just didn’t like it. I hesitated at the expense of investing in a whole new system,  but I’m glad I relented, I love it! I’m going to make another discbound notebook for another project soon, so I’ll share some photos and how-to’s on that later.

Camp isn’t over until next weekend, but I have a few irons in the fire, and I didn’t want to put off sharing this for too long.

Cori, aka; The Reset Girl, will be hosting a “Winter Camp” in January, at least that’s the plan. If you don’t know her work, here are a couple of links help you find her: YouTube channel and Website. She loves all things paper crafting, so you will find her website full of inspiration.

I hope you will find Cori’s community as inspiring as I have!

Until next time,

Thank you for visiting,

Have a wonderful week,

~Patty

But it has a happy ending, because I really like the way this turned out.

So, if you decide to pop over to my YouTube channel, I hope you will enjoy the “show”!

As always, thank you for stopping by,

Making Goals and Changing Names!

I hope I’m not going to be too-o-o long winded with this post, I have a lot I want to cover. There are quite a few things that have helped me set goals this year, and so far I’ve been able to keep up with them.

The first thing I would like to share is my planner.

img_6429

I shared about this planner last year, it was my personal care planner then. Well, that didn’t go down the path I was shooting for, so I re-tooled it into my Goals Planner.

img_6433

I Bought Lara Casey’s audio book “Make It Happen”, and I loved it! She has a great way of inspiring you to goal set, but has a wonderful philosophy of “Little by Little”. In other words, don’t stress, just get as much done as you can, when you can.

You can see some of the sections for the categories I’m working on this year. Honestly, these are the same as last year’s, and will probably be the same next year too.

img_6430

This is in the calendar section of my planner. I have chosen a de-clutter project for each month, until gardening begins, and I needed something different to track my progress. My husband helped me out with this idea, I feel as if this bubble chart will work a lot more organically than a calendar or a list would.

A page from my “Goals With Grace” devotional. This devotional has really helped me discover what I needed to think and pray about for the this year’s goals. One of my goals this year is to make more videos, so I made one of a flip through of this entire devotional, you can see it here.

img_6424

This is where I journal about my progress. Now, I get it if you think this is a bit of over-kill, but this is what I did last year, and it worked for me. There is a section for each category I’m working on: Faith, Home, Family and Friends, Creative, Health and Fitness, and Shoppe. That quote card on the right is my gratitude mantra, not just for this year, but always.

img_6435

I didn’t hit the goals on all those categories last year, but I got pretty darn close. Plus, I really got something out of reading my journaling, it helped me set my goals for this year.

img_6417

My One Little Word binder. In a perfect world you wouldn’t see the adhesive under the velum, but I decided not to stress too much about it and just get it done.

A groovy little pocket on the front cover.

My word and its definition. I’m having fun stash bustin’ on this project too!

img_6420

On a side note, taking the time to really think about this word has brought up all kinds of thoughts and feelings related to it that I didn’t foresee. I don’t know if you noticed it or not, but I changed the name of my blog from RadishBlossoms.com to PattyRadish.com. I also changed the name of my shoppe to EclecticArtJournals. I did the same across all my social media. I am amazed at how making this small change affected me, it’s like I’m taking ownership of everything I’m putting out there. It’s a really good feeling!

Well, that just about does it with my goal setting strategy, I hope it was helpful. If you get some time, head over to my YouTube channel and check out my latest video.

See you soon,

Thanks for the visit,

~Patty

“The Heritage of Unrest” Art Journal Video

Yay! I finally did it…again!

img_6327

I made another video on YouTube. This is the page I did the process portion on. You will have to excuse my stilted voice on the video, I’m finding the hardest part is the voice overs. I’ve come up with a few work arounds, but I still need help. Oh well, I can’t let that stop me from trying.

Take a look when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

Hit this: Youtube to get there.

Until next time,

Have a great day,

Thanks for the visit,

Collage Gratitude Journal Video and Life Updates

I hope this doesn’t seem redundant, but yes I have made another video.

IMG_4960It’s a process video of this Collage Gratitude journal, you can see the video here.

Announcing videos seems to be only activity on this blog of late, but I hope to change that up a bit some time soon with some shoppe news along with the occasional life updates.

I’m changing directions slightly on ‘this here blog’ because I share so many photos of my work on other social media, it felt as though I was repeating myself all the time, and I want the content here to be a little different.

Most of what I have been spending my time on lately is catching up on housework and decorating.

IMG_4947This set of drawers and shelf had been sitting naked for almost 20 years, I painted them over the weekend. It feels fantastic to finally get this done!

I’ve been spending the past few weeks going from room to room, making notes of what needs to be cleaned up, finished up, or gotten rid of. So, art making and my shoppe have been knocked down the priority list somewhat.  My house is really starting to look good, and it feels great! Having a laundry list of To Do’s in the back of my mind all the time was cluttering up my brain, and stifling my creativity.

There are still a few more pieces of furniture to paint, a few sewing and crochet projects to finish up, and some decluttering to do, but the more I do the less daunting it all seems.

I hope you don’t mind my switching things up around here. This is where I hope to post pix of my sewing and crochet projects, decorating, and shoppe updates, and keep most the art journaling photos on IG, YouTube, and Facebook. Just give me a follow if you want to see them.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks again for the visit,

Have a great day,

~Patty
