Catching Up on My “30 Days of Lists” Journal

Doing two list challenges in one month would seem a bit daunting, but I had decided to keep this one kind of simple, so it hasn’t been bad at all!

 Days 4 and 5.

But, I did need to play a little catch-up here and there. I’m really enjoying the list making as much as the decorating surprisingly enough.

Days 6 and 7.

Putting odd sized pages in this journal was a fun idea. I’ll have to do this more often!

Using up the mass quantities of die cuts I had bought this year has really helped things move along. Ready made embellishments makes things go a bit faster. It seems as though I can’t use anything unless it’s been sitting around for a while (…me shaking my head!)

IMG_0341These list are just another way to journal as far as I can tell. Instead of writing what’s on my mind, I’m thinking about bits of my life that would have probably past me by. But, I’m sure that seasoned list challenge folks have already figured that out!

Well, back to work on my lists…and my decorating…and my…

Thank you for stopping in,

Have a great Day,

Jumping Back Into #ListersGottaList Challenge

First, I turn my August listers journal into an art journal, then I turn my neglected gratitude journal into a listers journal. It sounds like I can’t make up my mind, because I can’t!

This list had a lot to do with my reluctance. Once this one came up, I lost my enthusiasm…for lots of things. I’ve been torn between feelings of  joy for having had the opportunity to tell my dad how much I love him, and sadness for having to say good bye at the same time.

All the emails with the ups and downs of his condition, along with so many cards I had made him, made this whole project hit a little too close to home.

(that photo of the rose was taken at his hospital, also where I was born)

For some reason I felt as if giving up on this project was like giving up on moving on, and my dad would have none of that if he knew! So, I decided that it’s time to get back to it, and I mean from the beginning!

IMG_8606

Because I am trying to catch up on three weeks worth of lists, I’ve been working on this steadily all weekend. All I can say is that it has really been a great experience! The list prompts are helping me look for ways to be grateful.

IMG_8614

It also helps to decorate the pages like I do my junk journals. Using random crap out of my catch-all containers.

IMG_8615

I’m almost caught up, about eight pages to go. I’m going to try a new list group next month called 30daysoflists, so I’ll be sharing about that. I’m not sure if I will do listersgottalist too, at this point, I hate to say one way or another because I may change my mind again!

Until next time,

Thank you for the visit,

Have a great week,

~Patty

Gratitude Journaling

Among all the other projects I have been trying to play catch-up on, there is my beloved gratitude journal! It seems that most of what I write about is my family, time spent on my own, and getting things done!

IMG_7900

For some reason I started using journaling cards and store bought ephemera in this, and subsequent pages. I really wasn’t happy with the way they were turning out, so I tore them apart and redid them. This one is slightly improved.

IMG_7903

This one was a complete re-do. I used s piece of an art page used in my art journals for the back ground then added this cute illustration from one of my vintage magazines (love the poodle!) A sticker with the date and lined paper for my list and done! It’s nice to throw things that are just lying around the studio together. Everything eventually finds a home!

A particular favorite, I used a photo taken on a recent trip to L.A. I love using my own photos in this journal, they give it such a personal touch. Working with these earthy tones is a nice break from the riot of colors I usually work with in my #ListersGottaList journals.

I’ve really been trying to get back to my kitschy flea market look again. I have been having so much fun using all my “store bought” ephemera, I’d forgotten what a kick some of this can be!

For the record: I’m super thankful for all of you that subscribe to my blog and take the time to read and comment! You guys rock!

Thank you for your time,

Talk to you soon,

~Patty
