One of the many projects that I’ve fallen behind in is my faith journaling, but that sure hasn’t slowed me down from purchasing more devotionals! I’ve promised myself I won’t start any new ones until I’ve finish some of my older ones, so… Illustrated Faith has put out some new Print and Pray goodies in their shop, and the colors are just too yummy! I love instant gratification…ehem, downloads!
I started out by scraping some coordinating colors onto the page, stamped an ampersand on with paint, adding “thankful” and “grateful” in gold, writing the scripture down, then embellishing with star stamping and the ephemera. I colored in the stars and some small areas of the pages with colored pencil to pull more color out onto the page.
The last page spread in this devotional, I love the way it turned out! I was inspired by some scripture I had read that morning. It was fun trying to coordinate all the colors on this one. Of course it looks a little like a hippie bus, but you know that’s how I roll.
I wanted to do some journaling, so I folded some scrapbook paper in half to write in then embellished it. I LOVE my Tim Holts tiny attacher! I got mine at Joann’s with a 40% off coupon, they’re kinda pricey.
I started out with paint scrapes of course, used my wood grain stamp to mimic the wood grain in the scrapbook paper, and added pink sunbursts with a Tim Holtz stamp. As you can see, I’m finally throwing perfectionism to the wind with my ink stamping!
This devotional is officially retired! So many wonderful memories tucked inside it’s pages! Swoon!
Since I was on a roll, I decided to get my prayer journal out of moth balls. I wanted to do some journaling, so I decorated a tip-in. Not only do they keep your journaling private, it adds a pop of color and another opportunity to play with color. Love!
It feels great to have so many projects caught up. Now I can start some new ones with a clear conscience, and also apply some of the new techniques I’ve practiced along the way, so I’m sure you will be hearing from me soon.
Until then,
Thank you for the visit,
Have a great weekend,
~Patty
