A Different Kind of Gratitude Journal

It has been a long time! I’ve been spending most of my time cleaning, organizing, and stocking up like the rest of the world. Isn’t a strange thing to be doing the same thing the whole world is doing. This virus really makes the world seem a lot smaller!

That being said, we have been self-quarenteening for three weeks now. Well, my husband has, I still go out for supplies now and again. And because I’m keeping that to a minimum, I’m trying to use my crafty stash as much as possible.

It probably sounds silly, but I find myself staring into space, pondering the current circumstances and as I look around the room, my eyes land on these little vignettes of happy!

So, I decided out of a sense of gratitude for my surroundings to take some snapshots and put them in a journal. I’ve been doing a lot of journaling through this in my lined journals, you know, the heavy stuff, but I wanted a fun place for my happy journaling.

“Trust” happens to be “my word for the year”, appropriate I would say!

Not only do I find some of my little vignettes inspiring, but also soothing.

Also, this is an awesome project if there is a little de-cluttering or dusting that needs doing!

Are there any inspiring, comforting, or grateful memories in your world that you like to document right now? If yes, I highly recommend trying this out, you could even create pocket pages with journaling cards.

I’ve been taking lots of pics and have come up with some fun ideas for decor in here, I’ll be sharing some of those soon. Also, I have a few new projects I’m working on right now, hopefully I’ll be sharing those soon too.

Until then,

Please take care of yourself,

Leave a comment, I’d love to hear from you,

  1. Hi Patty
Great to read your blog again, I haven’t been here for ages and I’ve missed seeing your journal spreads. they are always so chocka full of nice images. I am journaling in my covid19 journal, about lockdown in NZ and what it means to us each day. I was amazed when I read your Mar29 page, and that we chose the same image of the lady in fur coat and hat, an oldie from the Tim Holtz collection (I think). I’m always blown away when I come across a coincidence like this. What a small world. Were all trying our best to stay safe, be kind, and hopefully come together again one day. Hope you and your family are all well and keeping busy at home. Best wishes to you.

    1. Thank you so much Nanci! Posting on my blog has been pretty hit and miss lately. We’re doing pretty good, staying safe, and getting much needed projects done around the house and yard. Best wishes to you too! Stay safe!

  2. I know what you mean about stalling out-Lindsay (Frugal Crafter) posted a great video the other day on her channel about “feeling blah”-it made so much sense and helped me a bunch, have a look.

I never thought I would ever let a stranger do my grocery shopping, even tho our kids/friends have suggested it for several years. “NO WAY!” but…… this all happened, and there were a few things i wanted/needed, didn’t want to venture out, and bit the bullet. did a couple orders with Costco.

Everything i wanted to order online and have shipped was “out of stock” but when i tried it thru Instacart….the person got everything i wanted-it was like magic! lol. anyway, if push comes to shove and you really feel like you need to hunker down even more, it’s a great option. once we get back to ‘normal’ my first outing will be to do my own grocery shopping! hahaa thanks again for posting, hang in there, we’ll get thru this ❤

    1. Thanks Jenny, I’m going to check her out for sure!

My daughter does that too, and has for a while. Luckily, we live in a small town a ways from larger cities, so I have pretty safe options. But the online options have been pretty disappointing, so I may have to consider looking into Instacart. What could it hurt to look into it, if I’m informed my husband might beta little more comfortable with it! 💞💞💞

  3. Hey there Patty, thanks for posting this, very nice 🙂 I altered a store bought journal a few weeks ago for the “heavy stuff” – added some pockets, etc and i’m also using a glue book for fun/inspirational stuff.

Good to get an update from you, your photos are always such yummy eye candy! We’ve been staying home as well and I’ve been using Instacart for groceries. Have you heard of that? Check it out, I give it 2 thumbs up. Never thought I would ever have someone else do my shopping…but I’m very thankful for this service in times like this. Instacart-check it out. Stay calm, creative, healthy, and be good to yourself because YOU deserve it!! thanks for inspiring me as always friend 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Jenny! I really hope I can stay creative through all this, I seem to stall out a lot lately.

I would love to try Instacart but my hubby isn’t a fan of other people picking out our stuff! 🙄 Thanks for the tip though!

Your store bought journal sounds pretty awesome! Stay safe and keep in touch! 💞💞💞 and thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment! It makes me feel like someone out there is listening 😊
