New List Journals in the Shoppe!

I have been having so much fun with my “Halloween” list journal, that I thought it would be fun to make some Fall themed for November list challenges!

IMG_9845

I found some super cute “fall-ish” paper last week, and knew it would be perfect for these journals!

IMG_9841

This one with the feathers is a particular favorite. I’m not sure wether I saved some for myself though! 😦

What do you think of the giraffe ribbon? Kinda kooky!

IMG_9821

I think I had too much fun adding ephemera to these!

IMG_9822

Luckily, I had pulled a lot of Fall themed ephemera together throughout the year…and for Christmas, which is around the corner!

I’m still running my 20% off your entire purchase coupon through the end of the month:

All the streamlining and planning are starting to pay off now, so I’ll be making and posting a lot over the next couple of months! Yay!

Hope you find time to visit my Shoppe!

Some #listersgottalist Organization

I have been enjoying this month’s ListersGottaList challenge more than usual, and I think it’s because I have been much more organized. Having a container to work from has made quite a bit of difference. No more searching around my studio for inspiration for that day’s decor, it’s all right there!

IMG_9723

Last week, I took a couple of hours to go through this journal and lay down all the scrap pieces and journal cards. One of those mindless activities to do in front of a movie or favorite T.V. show.

IMG_9680

Having the basic layouts set and ready to go gave me so much more time to have fun and be creative. I even splurged a little on some new Halloween paper just to update my stash a little.

IMG_9686

It’s funny how working on a project and making small changes here and there can turn into a process. I’m not sure how this technique will work on months with out a theme, but its worth a try

I think we all struggle with finding enough time to be creative, it always seems to go on the back burner! So having a plan, even with creativity, can really be a life saver!

I am actually going to start working on November’s list journal this week. I think it would be fun to do a  blog post to show the step-by-step process I use to build my pages. Hope that sounds like fun!

Until next time,

Thank you for the visit,

Have a great week,

~Patty

My Home Planner Decor

So, this post started out as a planner decor reveal, but has turned into something else along the way. Not quite a rant, but a little bit of a frustration.

I have been working diligently over the last week moving from my “Home” spiral bound planner into something much more convenient. I wrote about my frustration of keeping up with two Inkwell Press Planners here, and found the perfect solution…the Week-on-2-Pages digital download from the Plan2Create Etsy shop. Love!

IMG_9710

Julie has a great Youtube channel, called Plan2Create, where she shows how she decorates these inserts. She really puts a lot into her videos, totally worth watching!

So, with that part organized, I thought it was time to personalize my Aqua FilofaxIMG_0349

I love Christy Tomlinson, and of course her Planner Society goodies, but when I open my planner, I want to be inspired by my own style, so I changed it up a bit.

IMG_9719

A few slight changes here and there, mostly, the all important dashboard. Here is where the drama enters! I completely mangled the first decorative insert! It was so darn cute, but I tore it …fixed it…then completely spazed on the laminating, I couldn’t win! So, I started over again…

IMG_9706

…and came up with this. I liked it, but it didn’t help me get over the disappointment of losing that first one.

The silver lining: as I was begrudgingly putting away the supplies I had strewn around my studio, some papers fell to the floor, “typical” I thought! Until I saw this piece laying there…

IMG_9721

..and decided to start all over again! I love it! Even more than the first one!

My poor husband, if he only knew how much I want that stove! (oh, he probably does!) But as long as I’m baking pies, with or without high heels, he’ll be happy!

So, there you have it! Catastrophe abated…planner well and properly decorated..and all is well with the world…at least my part of it!:)

Long-story-longer, I love my new “Home” planner!

Thanks for stopping by,

Have a wonderful weekend,

~Patty

The Challenge of a Painted Page

The painted pages in my journals have always been a bit of a challenge. Working with all the color, the empty space, but not wanting to cover up the good bits, then there’s the sheer size of the pages in this journal..

IMG_9660But, as I said in a previous post, these big pages are a great way to use some my larger ephemera pieces. I ‘ll be journaling on the painted surface, I love the way that looks, the ink pulls some black out into the rest of the page.

IMG_9662

I thought these daisy postage stamps echoed the background quite well and pulled some color into the circle. She looks like she’s balancing a huge ball on her shouldes, she’s certainly dressed for it!

IMG_9664

This is a riot of color, but I have been waiting for the perfect place to use that ’60’s desert image for a long time, it almost blends into the background. I echoed the houndstooth of her jacket with houndstooth paper punch outs. I pulled all the main colors into the bottom righthand corner by using that scrapbook piece like a mini journal page, a nice way to use smaller pieces with out cluttering up the rest of the page.

IMG_9655

As you can tell, I have relied heavily on black and white. I played around with tans and browns, but they muted the colors too much, the black and white seems to anchor the colors. The idea behind the placement of that flower was to pull those two images together and repeat the flowers in the background.

IMG_9656

I have been looking for the perfect home for this postage stamp for months! I pick it up to use every time I work on a project, I love it here! This black and white paper from an issue of Flow magazine is amazing! It has a mid century vibe to it, I use it a lot!

My large journal is coming along quite nicely, it has definitely been an awesome place to use larger ephemera pieces in, yet still leaving room for journaling.

I’m hoping to have some large ephemera packs in my shoppe by the end of the week, so look out for those.

Until then,

Thank for stopping by,

Have a great day,

~Patty

Shoppe Newness and a 20% off Coupon!

This month is the 4th anniversary of opening my shoppe! Although, in the first two years I went through many incarnations, the last two have been the best!

So to celebrate, I am offering 20% off your entire purchase with the coupon code RBANNIV20!

And now for the newness..

IMG_9598

Flower Clips! I have been using these in my journals and planners for a few months now, and I finally made some for my shoppe!

IMG_9579

Just the right touch for Halloween decor for your planners and journals!

IMG_9607

Finished off in the back with a button. Adding the yarn is a bit time consuming, but I just really don’t like naked buttons!

IMG_9572

They seemed to lack something, so I added a rhinestone to the middle.

IMG_9626

Packaging has become one of my favorite touches, another excuse to play with paper I imagine.

So, there you have it! Something new for the the shoppe!

I hope you will stop by and take a look around!

Until next time,

Have a great weekend,

Thanks for your time,

~Patty
