Catching Up on My “30 Days of Lists” Journal

Doing two list challenges in one month would seem a bit daunting, but I had decided to keep this one kind of simple, so it hasn’t been bad at all!

 Days 4 and 5.

But, I did need to play a little catch-up here and there. I’m really enjoying the list making as much as the decorating surprisingly enough.

Days 6 and 7.

Putting odd sized pages in this journal was a fun idea. I’ll have to do this more often!

IMG_9020Day 11.

Using up the mass quantities of die cuts I had bought this year has really helped things move along. Ready made embellishments makes things go a bit faster. It seems as though I can’t use anything unless it’s been sitting around for a while (…me shaking my head!)

IMG_0341These list are just another way to journal as far as I can tell. Instead of writing what’s on my mind, I’m thinking about bits of my life that would have probably past me by. But, I’m sure that seasoned list challenge folks have already figured that out!

Well, back to work on my lists…and my decorating…and my…

Thank you for stopping in,

Have a great Day,

Finishing My “Reconstructed” Art Journal

I first wrote about this little art journal back in August. I have managed to get an art journal finished in one month!

That has to be some kind of new record for me!

IMG_8967

I’m thinking it was because I just had fun with it! No expectations, just use up as much randomness as possible! That photo on the right is from a lovely visit I had with my daughter last year.

I love using keepsakes in my journals!

IMG_9028

I have a lot of stuff that has been laying around waiting for a home since last year, that “Grow” sticker for example. I pulled that out of one of my DIY planners at the beginning of the year.

I loved it too much to just toss it!

IMG_9025

Here’s something a bit different for me, no journaling. A quote card that was tucked into the memory board above my desk for the past year. I’m going to use these quote cards more often! Some people may say “What’s the point?”, but I revisit my journals for ideas all the time.

I’ll be seeing that again soon!

IMG_9030

The last page. I have already journaled my way through this journal! I so enjoy decorating the pages when I have the urge to be creative, then having them ready when I have the urge to write!

There are a few more journals I need to get finished up, and that is what my next plan is. I’m getting quite the little library of finished journals!

Thank you once again for your visit,

Have a great rest of your week,

~Patty

This Weeks Planning Decoration

Sometimes it’s hard to find the time to decorate my InkWell Press Planners, but I always feel as if I’m neglecting them some how if I don’t. Sounds odd, I know. So, this week I thought it would be a little quicker to use up some stickers in my decorating.

IMG_9120I have to say  I’m pretty pleased with the results. This week has kind of a muted nostalgic look to it. I credit this month’s IWP Planner color scheme for that.

I used sheets of washi from Michael’s for the individual backgrounds. I just cut them to size.

Our 31st wedding anniversary is on Saturday, I loved putting this page together! We are planning to go visit our daughter over the weekend, not too terribly romantic, but at least we will be getting out of the house!

Most of these stickers are from Hobby Lobby, but some have been discontinued. 😦

IMG_9127The first part of the week in my business planner. Seems pretty obvious where I’ve been spending most of my time this week!

If I didn’t track what do all day, I’m afraid my days would just blend into some kind of vague memory of being busy. I think some how what I put on paper sticks with me better, a bit like journaling.

IMG_9123Again with the anniversary goodness. I have picked up the habit of one to do list on the weekends, so far it’s been working out. I think I’m going to stay with this sticker thing, the trouble is I want to buy more now! What a surprise, eh!

Well, we’re off tho the other side of the mountains tomorrow! I’l be getting some much needed grandbaby snuggles!

Hope you have a great rest of your week,

Thanks for stopping by,

~Patty

Art Journals Going Big!

As I was rifling through my ephemera stash this week, I found lots of gorgeous pieces that I had forgotten completely about. Well, that was because I haven’t been able to use them in the smallish to tiny art journals I am currently working in.

Answer: Go Big…

IMG_8982

This beauty was given to me by my mom a few months ago. I absolutely love the cover, but the images inside are all in sepia, no color! I know, unbelievable! It measures about 12″x 9″, a perfect size for 8 1/2″x 11″ paper.

IMG_8990

Luckily, I have plenty of awesome large, vintage books to pick pages from, along with an abundance of super colorful painted pages I need to use up.

IMG_9666

It’s a great place for all my Flow magazine gratis papers to live. I’m still working on my collage technique with some of these, but I just love them!

IMG_8983

I have a lot of single sided scrapbook paper, and I thought this would be a great way to use some of it up. I purchased some digital downloads from BaersGarten on Etsy, and printed the plain side with lines to journal on. Cuz, sometimes a girl’s gotta write!

IMG_9044

Then there’s this, Our Miss Audrey on a bike! See how awesome it is to have a home for my Flow mag. papers! I’m keeping this page as is, it’s perfect!

IMG_8988

And now I have a place to use some of my awesome children’s book pages without having to cut them down to size! Nice!

I shared a bit of this art journal on IG and have already been getting some feedback about putting some in my shoppe, so that might be happening soon!

As usual, thank you so much for your time,

Have a fab week,

~Patty

30Days of Lists Update

It has been just too long since I’ve been on this blog! It seems as if all I’ve been doing for the last couple of weeks is catching up in my planners and taking care of business. So, what a relief it was to spend a little me time in my journals today!

IMG_8861

This list was a no brainer, and that is exactly what I need right now! And how fun was it to re-visit my pinterest account again, a little in the long forgotten category lately.

IMG_8863

This is quite the abridged version of my list, my real one would take up two more pages! I wanted to include some of the fun things on my list., and yes, organizing can be fun at times, especially when you find long lost treasures!

IMG_8868

My idea of collecting souvenirs when traveling is a bit different than most. I like to find everyday things for around the house, or decor items like vases and such. Practical, yet tasteful.

Grumpy Cat was something my son threw at me on a trip to Seattle’s International District last year, that was a fun day!

Well that’s it for now. I hope to be getting back into the swing of things on this blog soon, until then…

Thank you for the visit,

Have a nice day,

~Patty
