30 Days of Lists

Last week I decided to try a new list challenge called 30 Days of Lists. I’m not quite sure how I went from not participating in #listersgottalist for the first 3 weeks, to playing catch-up, to possibly participating in two list challenges for September. I think I just want more excuses to make journals…and work in them of course!

If you popped over here to see what I did with the 30 Days of Lists March 2011 list prompt, this is what I came up with. I chose Day 25 “What I would rather be doing”. In case it isn’t glaringly obvious, I love color, mid-century, and journals! Some day I will stop buying paper goodies, and use up what I have, but that day hasn’t arrived yet!

IMG_8643

This is a book I have had for years, from my my altered book stage that didn’t quite pan out. All I had to do is re-paper the inside covers and Bob’s your Uncle!

IMG_8642

A pocket full of goodies of course! I went through a library pocket making binge recently, a great way to use up paper scraps. These should be a fun addition.

IMG_8636

After watching rukrisitin’s periscope “scope” I decided that I wanted lots of different sized pages in this journal to mix things up a bit.

IMG_8638

My original intention was to keep it neutral, but that obviously fell to the wayside!

IMG_8640

A large journal card, too awesome to finally find something to use these for!

Well, I guess that’s about it for this project. I’ll be popping updates in here and there next month, along with all the other paper makings.

Till then, thanks for the visit,

Have a gorgeous day,

~Patty

Jumping Back Into #ListersGottaList Challenge

First, I turn my August listers journal into an art journal, then I turn my neglected gratitude journal into a listers journal. It sounds like I can’t make up my mind, because I can’t!

IMG_8608

This list had a lot to do with my reluctance. Once this one came up, I lost my enthusiasm…for lots of things. I’ve been torn between feelings of  joy for having had the opportunity to tell my dad how much I love him, and sadness for having to say good bye at the same time.

All the emails with the ups and downs of his condition, along with so many cards I had made him, made this whole project hit a little too close to home.

(that photo of the rose was taken at his hospital, also where I was born)

IMG_8602

For some reason I felt as if giving up on this project was like giving up on moving on, and my dad would have none of that if he knew! So, I decided that it’s time to get back to it, and I mean from the beginning!

IMG_8606

Because I am trying to catch up on three weeks worth of lists, I’ve been working on this steadily all weekend. All I can say is that it has really been a great experience! The list prompts are helping me look for ways to be grateful.

IMG_8614

It also helps to decorate the pages like I do my junk journals. Using random crap out of my catch-all containers.

IMG_8615

I’m almost caught up, about eight pages to go. I’m going to try a new list group next month called 30daysoflists, so I’ll be sharing about that. I’m not sure if I will do listersgottalist too, at this point, I hate to say one way or another because I may change my mind again!

Until next time,

Thank you for the visit,

Have a great week,

~Patty

List Journal Restructuring

This little journal came about when I decided that I needed a break from the ListerGottaList challenge because I had overextended myself, and something had to go. I was about 5 pages into it when I decided to take it apart. There was still some gluey-ness on the pages and they were sticking together so I decided to start working on it because I knew if I just put away, I’d pull it out someday and say “What the heck!”, of course forgetting the back story.

IMG_8534

I just started throwing down anything I could lay my hands on to cover the stickiness, added some journaling pieces, and started writing away! Apparently I had a lot on my mind, because I filled four pages in one sitting!

IMG_8536

My journaling was a bit on the “angst” side, so please excuse the covers.

IMG_8543

I feel as if doing the Listers challenge gave me permission to keep my pages a little on the simple side, a nice thing when writing is what you want to do most.

IMG_8540

Lots of random colors and bits, a few pieces of washi tape, and I’m happy! As you can see, my last entry was on the 12th, I think it’s time to get back to it!

Hope your having a great day,

Thanks for stopping by,

~Patty

RadishBlossoms Shoppe News

I’ve been a super busy bee lately! The funny thing is that as soon as I gave myself permission to slow down, I found a surplus of energy! It’s amazing how putting undue pressure on yourself can drag you down! It’s still a work in progress, progress being the operative word.

In the meantime I thought I would share some of the fruits of my labor.

IMG_8448

I made four new List Journals. I went a bit nutso with the amount of ephemera in these…

IMG_8424

I put them in the shoppe on Friday and two have sold! Time to get back to work!

IMG_8404

I found some new super cute double sided paper for them. I can’t tell you how much more fun it is to make them when I love the paper! It’s nice to be able to say “I’d be happy to keep them if they don’t sell!”

IMG_8495

Yesterday, I went to town on Ephemera Packs. I was able to get 10 finished! So cool, the shoppe is filling up fast!

IMG_8524

I have to say that some of this stuff is really hard to part with, but I know first hand how hard it is to find good ephemera, so I have to share.

Speaking of which, I have included a special coupon for all my blog friends for my shoppe! Just use the coupon code BLOGLOVE20 at point of sale and receive 20% your order (not including shipping) until 8/31/15!

As always, thanks for the visit,

Have a wonderful day,

~Patty

Mini Art Journals

I love it when I’m in the mood to work on old unfinished projects. This one isn’t as old as some have been, but how fun is it to have 6 new mini journals!

IMG_8451

The idea behind these was to use up smaller pieces of double sided scrapbook paper. I’m pretty picky about the paper I use in the journals I sell on my shoppe, things going sideways and such, so I usually have quite a bit leftover.

IMG_0325

I have to admit, I was less than happy with the muddy appearance I gave the covers of these journals, even though the original plan was to decorate the fronts, I’ll have to work on that.

IMG_0329

Here is an example of the first one I decorated. My favorite paper, a fussy cut image, and one of my dorky flowers, it’ll do.

IMG_8453

I left these two un-tinted and gessoed. I don’t feel as if I need to decorate the covers on these, we’ll see.

IMG_0328

I made a pocket page for each, then filled them with scrapbook paper. How in the world I am going to find the time to work in these, I have no idea. That’s why I opened my shoppe, so I can make art journals but not necessarily have to art them up! Cheeky eh!

Well, once again thank you for the visit,

Have a fab week,

~Patty
